LASER HAIR REMOVAL
Laser Hair Removal works by directing concentrated light to target the hair follicle at the root. The laser inhibits the hair’s ability to grow without disrupting or damaging the skin’s surface, so even the most sensitive skin can be treated.
For your initial course of Laser Hair Removal treatment, we recommend approximately 6-12 treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart (depending on the area and hair)

Book a complimentary consultation and patch test with one of our Laser Therapists (required at least 24 hours prior to your first session)
You can purchase a course of 6 treatments for the price of just 5.
Or you can pay in 2-installments and purchase a two courses of 3 to spread the payments.

Post-treatment instructions
It is important that you do the following for the next 30-days after your treatment:

For 24-48 hours after the treatment:
- No perfumed skincare products or makeup
- No excessive heat i.e. saunas, steam room, hot baths or showers, jacuzzi etc
- No swimming, exercise or gym (avoid sweating)
- No touching, picking or scratching the area
- Avoid facial exfoliation
If any reactions occur during the first 48 hours after the treatment you should use pure Aloe Vera gel and cold compresses. You should contact the salon if this persists after 48-hours.
- Slight erythema/redness is seen immediately after the treatment and this will disappear in 1-2 hours or in some cases a few days
- The area around the vessels that have been treated (thread veins) will become oedematous and the swelling can last for 4-days
- Any pigmentation in the area will turn darker after the treatment, creating a light crust that will gradually slough off over the next 7-10 days
How do Thread Veins develop?
These thin vessels (called telangiectasias) around your nose or on your cheeks are small blood vessels near the surface of the skin, mainly formed as a result of sun exposure. Thread veins can be hereditary, caused by smoking, medication, skin trauma, heat, alcohol or spicy food.
How does Ellipse treatment work on Thread Veins?
Short, safe bursts of intense pulsed light (called SWT technology by Ellipse) are directed into the skin. The system filters the light to ensure wavelengths used are absorbed by haemoglobin in the blood in your problem vessels. The light is converted to heat, which destroys the protein in the wall of the thread vein, causing the veins to gradually disappear after the treatment.
Which veins can be treated?
The most common treatments are for superficial veins in the face, treatments are more effective for clients with lighter skin tones and not suntanned at time of treatment. However, Ellipse has pre-programmed settings for different skin types that deliver the correct energy output for your complexion.
How long does the treatment take?
Several vessels can be targeted in one flash of light. The treatment time depends on the area to be covered and the number of distinct vessel to be treated. You may need a course of 2-3 treatments at 4-week intervals.
Does the treatment hurt?
No anaesthetics are required, and many clients describe the procedure as practically pain free, like a flick from a rubber band followed by a sensation similar to the feeling of sunburn after a day at the beach.

How does Ellipse hair Removal work?
A thin layer of gel is applied to the skin prior to treatment, to ensure the maximum amount of light enters the skin. The ellipse applicator is pressed against the skin and a carefully controlled pulse of visible light is released. The light is absorbed by pigment (melanin)in your hair) melanin converts the light into heat, which travels down the hair and heats the hair matrix, preventing future hair growth.
Can all hairs be treated?
Because the treatments relies on absorption of light by melanin, there needs to be melanin in the hair. This means that light blonde, red, grey or white hairs do not respond, and the most efficient treatment is reached on darker hairs. Ellipse is able to treat skin types 1-4 on the Fitzpatrick skin tone chart (click here to view)
How many treatments will I need?
Every hair has a life cycle; it grows for a period of time, falls out, rests and then starts to grow again. Only hairs that are growing can be treated, so you need to repeat the treatment at intervals until all of the hair follicles have been treated while growing. The length and timing of the growth cycles are effected by numerous factors such as body site, hormone levels and age. We recommend a course of six treatments at 4-6 weeks apart. You may need a top up of one treatment during the following year.
Does the treatment hurt?
While tolerance of pain is very individual, no anaesthetics are required, and many clients describe the procedure as practically pain free, like a flick from a rubber band snapping onto the skin.
