AFTERCARE ADVICE
PRE-TREATMENT RECOMMENDATIONS
- Do not wax, thread, shave or tan your face 24-hours prior to any professional facial treatment. This can cause sensitivity and a possible reaction to the products used during your treatment.
- Ensure your face is not sunburnt.
- Avoid Retinol for 5 days before your facial, and any other exfoliating skincare products such as AHA/BHA.
- Avoid having a facial the same day as you’ve had lash extensions or a maintenance appointment.
- Arrive to your appointment with minimal makeup, heavily applied mascara will not be removed during a facial.
POST TREATMENT ADVICE
Aftercare advice for facial treatments will depend on the facial treatment you have had, and which products have been used. However, we offer everyone this aftercare advice:
- Don’t wear make-up immediately following a facial for 6-8 hours unless it’s a mineral based makeup. This will ensure that you benefit fully from the products used during the facial, as well as prevent blocked pores (as these will be quite open following the treatment).
- Avoid other facial treatments for 48 hours.
- Avoid using exfoliators or other advanced skincare products as these may irritate or aggravate your skin for 48-hours.
- Care for your skin. Avoid sunbathing and sunbeds for the next 24-hours as you may have slightly more sensitive skin.
- Avoid sunbathing, sauna’s, hot tub or hot bath, or using a hairdryer or steam near your face.
- We also recommend that you don’t use perfumed or exfoliating products on your face for a couple of days following a facial, again because your skin may be more sensitive than usual.
- Wear an SPF 30 sunscreen protection during the day.
- Between facials, there are things you can do to help the look and health of your face. Cleanse, tone and moisturise your face daily, as this will help to ensure make-up doesn’t damage your skin, as well as help to rehydrate it from the drying effects of daily life.
- We also recommend a healthy lifestyle with moderate exercise. Eat a fruit and vegetable rich diet and drink plenty of water.
